Single Lens Reflex camera. A camera using an automatic moving mirror system which permits the image appearing in the viewfinder to be taken right through the lens. This technology is delivering the most accurate rendering of the scene that will be captured by the camera.
Abbreviation for a digital SLR camera. Exactly the same as an SLR except that a digital sensor is used to capture the image instead of film. The term DSLR applies to cameras with genuine reflex viewing systems using a mirror in the optical path, not to the cameras using an EVF (electronic viewfinder).
